STCI's Mission
The mission of STCerri International is to train engineers, technical managers, and other technical professionals in the inter-personal people skills (i.e., the soft skills) of communication, team participation, team building, negotiation, management, leadership, and NLP non-verbal communication processes in order to significantly increase the productivity and effectiveness of technical organizations. STCI is unique because Steven Cerri has been through the transition process from technical professional to organizational leader and entrepreneur and transmits knowledge, experience, and real-world information about what is truly required to be a results oriented, technology manager and engineer.
STCI's History
ST Cerri International was founded in 1992. STCI is a California corporation and has been from it's inception. We have conducted training, coaching, and facilitation programs throughout the world, including China, Italy, and England, as well as the United States.
Who is Steven Cerri?
Steven is different because he has been through the transition process himself. By education, Steven holds a B.S. in aeronautical engineering, an M.S. in geophysics, and an MBA. Because he has successfully made the transition from technologist to leader, he receives instant credibility. His point of view is not as a psychologist, or human resource specialist. His point of view is from that of a engineer, technical manager and executive who has had to deal with all the issues that make the transition to leader difficult and challenging. This coupled with Steven's knowledge of Neruo-Linguistic Programming (Steven is a Certified Master Practitioner of NLP) makes Steven uniquely qualified not only to impart information but also to facilitate change.
“We specifically brought Steven to BATC because of his ability to communicate with our engineering and management staff. When Steven talks to our engineers and scientists he has INSTANT CREDIBILITY because he is an engineer, scientist, and businessman. He has done what he and we are asking our people to do. When he talks about the soft-skills like communication, leadership, and customer service he walks his talk and behaves just like he is training our people to behave. For example, they see and experience the positive effects of effective communication while they are being trained in it. Their behavior changes without even realizing it and without any effort or resistance. Steven has definitely developed a following among our technical staff. They anticipate and sign up for every one of his classes. Vern Hanson, Training Department, Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp.
What Makes Us Different?
We don't just train. Training is a process of transferring information. From a neuro-science perspective, training speaks to the intellect. We all know that speaking to the intellect transmits information but not necessarily a change in behavior. Just notice how many self-help books are printed every year, year after year after year after year. If infomration was sufficient to change behavior, then printing new books would be unnecessary.
Instead, to change behavior, to give people new choices in their behavior, information, tools, and processes must be communicated to the "whole person". And while the phrase "whole person" may sound a little ambiguous, it means that in our programs we provide a means by which the participant's whole neurology can receive the same message. Whether through visual presentation, auditory presentation, or kinesthetic presentation, and content, all channels and forms of communication are melded together to give a seamless yet comprehensive "facilitation" for change. And because this process is presented by an engineer, scientist, and businessman to engineers, scientists, and business people, our facilitation programs have much more power and impact than regular training programs.
